#15 July 25, 2015 Prayer Request & News!

Ephesians 3:16 “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (NKJV).

7/25/15 Rev. Hedy Miller, US Missionary - passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 9:42 pm. The Memorial Service for Hedy Miller will be held on Saturday, August 1st at First Assembly of God, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 1:30 pm. Pray for the comfort of love ones and many friends who knew her.

7/25/15 Tony Callies is having trouble with his old knee injury and is asking for prayer. He will see his Doctor for routine check. Dorothy: I have eyes glaucoma and I am having trouble with the brightness that often I have to cover my eyes more than usual. Some Deaf thinks I look “cranky” when actually my “frown” eye brows covers my eyes more. My “frown” doesn’t really help much so a friend made several fitted eye glasses covers, and it became a blessing. I have colors to choose from. God blessed her. I want to believe in healing for my eyes. Thank you.

7/4/15 Shirley Yellin from East – Celeste Herse request prayer for her:
Hi Dorothy, I would like you to add Shirley Yellin on your prayer list. She is in a nursing home, and has become blind. None of her family will visit or care for her, the state is handling her affairs.  I do believe she needs our prayers and Gods' will.  Thanks

Tony and Dorothy: We have known Shirley Yellin from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri from 1963’s and 1965’s. We pray that God will anointed her eyes and be healed in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray that all things will be done well for Shirley that she would be well taken care of. We pray that God will lift her soul unto the Lord God and have intimate fellowship with God, Himself. And the allow His Presence to fill her heart with peace and joy of knowing that God is with Shirley Yellin in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

#14 June 6, 2015 Prayer Request & News

#14 June 6, 2015 - Prayer Requests & News by Dorothy Callies
Ephesians 3:16 “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (NKJV).

News: Please pray for Ruth Eckstein's husband, Bill who was in the hospital for ten days and the doctor said that he could be gone anytime. Bill is 80 years old and he has many health issues. Please pray for family's strength.

On Friday morning, June 5th, Tony, Albert, Bob and I went to visit Bill at the hospital after we met for Bible Study. Ruth and Bill was happy to see us group visiting him. Kay, their daughter was also there. Kay looked so tired so please pray for her strength. Kay drove one hour from Urbana, Illinois to Bloomington, IL to be with her parent. Jack, her husband provided transportation for Ruth since he got lay off from work. Ruth and Kay shared that they are planning on hospice at home since Bill wants to be home and Ruth could be close to him.

Little history about Ruth and Bill. They go way back to Rev. Couch's time when Lloyd was traveling on Sunday afternoon to minister at Peoria Outstation in 1968. The group that came together were Ecksteins and two daughters, Braddys and two daughters in one van, traveling from Normal to Peoria which was an hour drive. Ruth and Bill accepted Christ. The group requested Rev. Couch to find a pastor to Normal Assembly of God at Franklin Ave.

That was where Rev. Couch asked Rev. Tony Callies if he could do the outstation ministry from Rockford to Normal two times a month in 1969. It was two hours drive each way. Until May 1969, we became pastor to the Deaf church then, but we had Super-8 movies to finish up the Rapture, the Tribulation Saints, and the Rich Man. So we continued traveling two times a month until we moved Dec. 1969 to Normal.

We were living in Rockford, Illinois for one year and Tony worked as a night janitor at Listerine Company for six days a week. I asked him if he would look for job first in Normal/Bloomington, IL before we move. He said, "No, we are going to move anyway, and by faith I would already have found a job." Well, we moved and he looked at the newspaper and saw the job ad, "Linotype Operator Needed" so he applied and got the job. Wow! God prepared the way!

So we had a group that involves Bill and Ruth Eckstein and Pauline and John Braddy since 1969. God really blessed the ministry until we had a growing group to average 15-20. They were also involved in being actors for the Super-8 movies, "Overconfidence, Power of Faith, This is Your Life, and Parable of Sower" (Now in DVDs). We were at Normal, Illinois for three years and God called us to minister to Peoria for another three years. We realized that along with Rev. Couch, we were "Church Planters" and others took over. The secret to this was "many hours of prayers" to get the new ministry growing.

Today, we have Albert Jones, as lay leader and Pastor Terry Newman who were former residents of Peoria, now lives in Bloomington, Illinois and participate with the Deaf Ministry at Assembly of God on Vernon Ave, Normal, IL to carry on the Deaf Ministry.

So Bill Eckstein has been with the Normal Deaf Church since 47 years. So please pray for God to bless him and his family be comforted with strength to endure all things in Jesus' name.

#13 Shelley's Prayers 5/9/15

#13 Shelley Guinn Anointed Prayers, May 9, 2015 - Callies

Deuteronomy 33:3, 27 NCV, “The Lord surely loves His people and takes care of all those who belong to Him. They bow down at His feet, and they are taught by Him. The everlasting God is your place of safety, and His arms will hold you up forever. He will force your enemy out ahead of you, saying, “Destroy the enemy!”  [Dot: Wow! I love this! Found this from God’s Promises for every day]

PTL! The Hardyzoo surely need your prayer. Dean has been doing lots of driving around for his kids included Karen and me. Today he took Nathan to Ottawa for literacy program. While he is waiting for Nate, he had a meeting with Trustees as well as doing some computer work in either Starbucks or in Library. Poor guy, he is always on go-go. Next Sunday on 17th he will be preaching in Belleville (2 hours away). Then in May 20 to 25th he will fly to Vancouver, B.C. to preach at retreat. He surely will need your prayer. Smile!

Father,
Let us all come boldly to Your throne and receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We are lifting Dean to You for Your strength and wisdom when he drives, prepares sermons, ministers and helps his family and others. Show him how to rest in You without getting tired or weary in doing good. Give Dean Your Word that he can be quickened with life, vitality and strength. Anoint him with power to carry Your work at the retreat, bringing a heart change and a revival. In Jesus' glorious Name that is loved, amen and amen.

On Tuesday early morning of May 12th will be my surgery of fistula plug. I was told by Doctor that it would be painful after surgery. Reading Shelley Guinn’s testimony about having no pain throughout the recovery process, could you please pray for me as well that I would be comfortable after surgery? I will be outpatient and be home for the day. It may be the reason I wrote devotion ahead of time for May 10-12 Does Jesus Care? Thank you so much for your prayers. You are a blessing!!!

Father,
Thank You for loving Dorothy deeply, widely and powerfully. Let her receive Your love completely to remove fear from her. There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear. She is free from fear and made perfect in love. Father, You give her not the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. I pray that she keeps her mind on You Jesus as her Prince of Peace which crushes the enemy of lies and fear beneath her feet and keeps her wholly sanctified, spirit, soul and body. When the day of surgery comes, let her heart be at great peace and trust You. Guide the doctor to perform the surgery well. Pain, I forbid you to be with Dorothy, demand you to go to dry place and never to come back in Jesus' mighty Name.  She takes God's Word as cure to her recovery. Thank You Father for hearing this prayer today. Amen and amen.

June has problem with dry mouth and she tried all kinds of things to cure it. Nothing works. She could only taste half of what she eats. She is asking for prayer warriors to pray for her.

Father,
I pray for June that she keeps standing in Your Word. You have created June and know what is wrong with her. I ask You to reveal to her the problem and show her the solution for her dry mouth. Let her act on what she has learnt from You and receive the results of healing. Thank You for Your Word and Wisdom. In Jesus' powerful name, I pray, amen and amen.

Song: I Am Healed By His Stripes by Lois Irwin
I am healed, … by His stripes, …
By the stripes that made the blood so freely flow; …
Just as surely as I know,
I am saved for ever more,
I am healed by the stripes that Jesus bore…

Shelley Guinn's Good News!

Thank you Dorothy and team for praying. Give God the glory!

Praise God! I came home the day after surgery. It was a two hour surgery and it went well. My mother in law came and waited all day for me. She told me later that there was fire of some sorts in the surgery room where I was being operated on. The hospital had alarm going on and doors were locked temporarily. I don't know the full details but God was with me. My mother in law was overly worried. Then all went okay afterwards.

I was told by my doctor the next day that she found my uterus with fibroids larger than the results have had shown and removed it through vagina instead of belly button as planned. She ripped my vagina a bit in the process. I woke up to full of air in the belly area and was finding hard to breathe comfortably and now the air is nearly gone and my belly is nearly to its normal size. I'm thankful to be able to breathe better. I look forward to full recovery where I am breathing regularly and normally. God is good and faithful.

I thank God that I have no pain in the womb area throughout the recovery process. I took no pain meds. I am also thankful to Him that I am sleeping better at nights now. I am walking better and gaining strength as well.

I am looking at the digestive system and am seeking God for His direction and healing. I am off work for 6 weeks.

Blessings
