Soul Glorifies God 9/22/18

Sept 22 2018 Personal Journal by Dorothy Callies

“My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.
Luke 1:46-47 NKJV ….
“For the Mighty One has done great things for me.” (vv.46-49).

Daily Bread – Dec. 15, 2018 reads:  Mary thank God because she recognize that her daily provision comes from His hand (V.53). Let us recounting the great things God has done for us because it is a way to express praise and can lead us to rejoice.
Song: Rejoice, the Lord is King
Rejoice the Lord is King,
Your Lord and King adore!
Rejoice, give thanks and sing,
And triumph evermore!
Lift up your heart, lift up your voice!
Rejoice, again I say, rejoice!

Friend 8/8/18

Psalm 119:76 - I interpret this:
Lord, I pray to You, You are merciful and kindness.  These are my comfort as You have promised Your Word to me as Your friend, not as a servant.

Jesus said in John 15:13-17 NCV
"The greatest love a person can show is to die for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you.  I no longer call you servants, because a servant does not know what is doing.  But I call you, friends, because I have made known to you everything I heard from My Father.

You did not choose Me; I chose you.  And I gave you this work: to go and produce fruit that will last.  Then the Father will give you anything you ask for in My name.  This is My command:  Love each other."

It Is Good! 9/3/18

Psalm 119:71 "It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn Thy statutes."
NCV: It was good for me to suffer so I would learn Your demands.

This verse impressed me. Why?  It took suffering to learn His Laws, His Words and His demands.  This is what make me want to write His famous chapter 119 of the greatest Psalm.

Quote from devotion says: Psalm 119 celebrates the POWER and NECESSITY of God's Words in our lives.  It lights our path (v. 105), revives our souls (v. 107), and guards our steps (v.110).

Through the Scriptures we find wisdom, guidance, life and joy.  Psalm 119:111 "Your testimonies I have taken as a heritage forever for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

Hear My Prayer 4

Prayer of the afflicted, when David, the Psalmist, is overwhelmed, and pour out his complaint before the Lord.

Psalm 102:1-2  “Hear my prayer , O LORD, and let my cry come unto Thee. V2. Hide not Thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.”  NCV: Lord, listen to my prayer: let my cry for help come to You. V2. Do not hide from me in my time of trouble.  Pay attention to me.  When I cry for help, answer me quickly.”

Psalm 143:1 “Hear my prayer, O LORD, give ear to my supplication (need), in Thy faithfulness answer me, and in Thy righteousness.”  NCV: Lord, hear my prayer; listen to my cry for mercy. Answer me because You are loyal and good.

Proverbs 15:29 NCV: The Lord does not listen to the wicked but He hears the prayers of those who do right.  KJV: The Lord is far from the wicked; but He hears the prayer of the righteous.
