News of Tony Callies 1/19/17

News of Tony Callies from Dorothy Callies:

Yesterday on January 18th, Tony met with his heart Doctor for his usual check up. The Doctor was very surprised to read all the reports that Tony's health has improved so much. It started when one friend had suggested that we pray for all parts of Tony's body. So two of us as agreed in prayer through Jesus' name.  There's power in two agreeing together to pray. 

Matthew 18:19 Jesus said, "That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven."

Matthew 18:20 "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

Testimony & Prayer 1/14/17

Testimony:

Jan. 14, 2017 -Tony’s result in blood test on Jan. 6 for specific platelet, he improved from 129 to 137.  They were surprised so thank you for prayers.  The goal is to reach 145-375. He will have another blood test next two months so please pray that his platelet reached 145 as normal. Dorothy Callies
                  

Jan. 14, 2017 - June Ault of PA. Please pray for her as she goes through a very rough time with several things she is facing.  Physically, she is exhausted. She needs healing. She needs her volunteer to be faithful in helping with her groceries since June cannot drive or go out much unless it is very necessary like seeing her doctor.  With housing authority, lots of questions and paper works exhausted her, but she came through okay knowing they will help her financially. She is thankful that God helped her through it.  May our prayers support her spiritually since she has been a very faithful prayer warrior. Dorothy Callies

Jan. 14, 2017 - Jane Loveland of Utah.  The result of her therapy since October 2016, she was able to get out of wheel chair and use walker or cane.  It was a slow healing and she is gaining strength.  Considered that a miracle especially when she is 88 or 89 years of age.

Jan. 14, 2017 - Dorothy Callies' Training Center, Deaf Prayer Partners Ministry. Please pray that God will bless the students with studies of the lessons so they would become future workers for the Lord.  The Lord led Tony and me, as pastors and teachers to open the training center at our home since Oct. 3, 2016 and it has been a blessing.

Heb. 10:25 KJV, “Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together; as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.”

It would be good to add this in NLT, “And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of His coming back again is drawing near.”

The fourth duty is to assemble together and not to forsake our assembling. Why do we, as believers need to be together? The believers are to assembly together:

·         for worship,

·         for prayer,

·         for study of God’s Word and

·         for ministry and witnessing.

Genuine (sincere and honest) believers need each other—

·         the presence,

·         to fellowship,

·         to strength one another,

·         to encourage one to another,

·         to care for each other, and

·         to love one another.

Anna, a prophetess of a great age, departed not from the temple, but served God … (Lk.2:36-37). Jesus came to Nazareth as was his custom, went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read (Lk.4:16). The disciples were in the temple, praising and blessing God (Luke 24:52-53). Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer (Acts 3:1). David, the Psalmist said, “I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1). Here are the few examples to show how valuable the temple was to them.

C.V. LET US STIR UP 1/30

30 Jan 2016 - Card Verse for the Day - LET US STIR UP by Dorothy Callies

Heb. 10:24 KJV, “And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.” (Provoke means to stir up and to arouse to strong feeling or action.)  NCV: “Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds.”

I would interpret like this: Let us stir up one another: To love and to do good works.  However I would like to use The Amplified Bible translates from Hebrews 10:24 “And let us consider and give attentive, continuous care to watching over one another, studying how we may stir up (stimulate and incite) to love and helpful deeds and noble activities.”

Our third duty is to stir up one another to love and to do good works. Note the word “consider.” It means to give attention to; to fix our attention upon; to give continuous care; to watch over. The Amplified Bible gave a good interpretation on Hebrews 10:24. What a great encouragement to believers!

How different the church would be—how much stronger we would be in Christ and in life—if we heeded this encouragement! And note what it is that we are to give attention to: to make sure that we are stirred up and living for Christ—that we are loving one another and doing good works. This simply means...

·         that we are thoughtful of one another.

·         that we meet one another’s needs.

·         that we strengthen one another’s weaknesses.

·         that we help one another through every trial and temptation.

Why do we need to give attention to one another? It is to make sure that none of us are slacking up—to avoid our work or duty—or stop the flow of loving one another and to keep on doing good works.  This is the duty of the new, living faith Jesus Christ has wrought for us.  It is not a dead faith. It is a faith that stirs us to action—that stirs us to live, truly live, live in love good works.

Jesus said to us: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven” (Matt.5:16). And also, “A new commandment I give unto you, That you love one another; as I have loved you…”

C.V. LET US HOLD FAST 1/29

29 Jan 2016 - Card Verse for the day - LET US HOLD FAST by Dorothy Callies

Heb. 10:23 KJV, “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised). NCV, “Let us hold firmly to the hope that we have confessed, because we can trust God to do what He promised.”

What is profession? There are several meanings, but I choose one with Biblical meaning: a public declaring or claiming (as of a belief, faith, or opinion). To profess is to declare openly what you believe. The closest meaning would be to hold firmly to the hope that we have confessed. Confess to what belief should we hold fast (firmly fixed and loyal) to? Let us continue to study.

Our second duty is to hold fast our profession (belief) without wavering. A person who makes a true profession in Christ believes two things:

·         that Jesus Christ is our Savior from sin and death—that Jesus Christ is the perfect sacrifice for our sins—that Jesus Christ and His sacrifice covers our sins and makes it possible for God to forgive our sins.

·         that Jesus Christ is the risen Lord—that Jesus Christ is our High Priest who is seated at the right hand of God—that Jesus Christ is the perfect Mediator and Intercessor who makes us acceptable to God and presents us as perfect and sinless before God.

When we, as a person professes Christ to be our Savior and Lord, we are to hold our profession fast (firmly fixed and loyal) and we are to do it without wavering. Wavering means to go back and forth between choices; sway to and fro (cannot make up one’s mind to choose one thing).

To do it without wavering, the believer is NOT:

·         to listen to the voices of the world and return to worldly and material things.

·         to doubt that Jesus Christ died for you.

·         to doubt that Jesus Christ arose for you.

·         to listen to the voices of doubt and false teaching.

·         to let circumstances, trials, and temptations shake your faith in Christ.

Note: there is one strong reason for holding our profession fast. What is it?

·         “GOD IS FAITHFUL THAT PROMISED.”

God keeps His Word. And He is the One who has promised to let the sacrifice of Christ count as the sacrifice for our sins. God is the One who has promised to accept us in Christ—to accept us in His perfection and righteousness. God will do exactly what He has said. He is faithful. Therefore, “let us hold fast the profession of our hope without wavering.” We have been saved and will inherit eternal life—given the glorious privilege of living with God forever and ever in the new heavens and earth. Dorothy: Oh! This card verse study helps me to remember what I believe in as a Christian and to profess Jesus Christ without wavering. It feels like the Holy Spirit is building inside of me, allowing the Word of God to go deeply, enriching my soul, feeling God’s presence, healing my body, and receiving strength and energy. And I pray that the Holy Spirit will do the same with you, in Jesus’ name, amen!

Heb. 10:22 KJV, “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”

I like to read this part of Heb. 10:19-21 which makes me appreciate Heb. 10:22 in NLT “And so, dear brothers and sisters, we can boldly enter heaven’s Most Holy Place because of the blood of Jesus. 20) This is the new, life-giving way that Christ has opened up for us through the sacred curtain, by means of His death for us.

21) “And since we have a great High Priest who rules over God’s people, 22) Let us go right into the presence of God, with true hearts fully trust Him. For our evil consciences have been sprinkled with Christ’s blood to make us clean, and our bodies have been washed with pure water.”

These great verses tells us the most wonderful thing.  We can now know God, really know Him. We can commune and fellowship with Him and have His presence and power working in our lives.  God’s presence and power can conquer all the problems and trials and temptations of life that attack us.  The living God can be a living reality in our lives. Let us look into more study from the card verse.

Our first duty is to draw near God. Jesus Christ has opened up the way into God’s presence for us. He has taken our sins upon Himself and bore the guilt and judgment of them for us. Jesus Christ has freed us from sin, removed all of our sins. He is now ready to present us to God as being sinless and righteous.

Jesus Christ has made us acceptable to God. He has provided a new and living way into the holiest place of all, into the very presence of God Himself. Therefore, let us draw near God with our true heart. To have a true heart means be sincere, honest, and without hypocrisy. A true heart involves an attitude of gladness, freedom, and enthusiasm. 

Let us remember that “without faith, it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is …” (Heb.11:6). So let us have a “full assurance of faith” when we come into God’s presence.

Hebrew 2:18 NIV, “Because He Himself suffered when He was tempted, He is able to help those who are being tempted”.  KJV, “For in that He Himself hath succour them that are tempted”.

The modern dictionary use “succor” means to help, aid, relieve, assist; to be eager to help that one runs to the cry of a person. WHAT A PICTURE OF JESUS CHRIST! THE ONE (JESUS) RUNS TO THE CRY OF A PERSON. He has heard our cry in all of our suffering and pain, trial and temptation; and He has run to help and deliver us.

Just think! He has been made like us in order to feel with us and deliver us. He has become the perfect High Priest. He needed to do this in order to experience every situation, condition, and trial of man. He experienced the most humiliating experiences you can ever imagined. He experienced . . .  

·         being born to an unwed mother (Mt.1:18-19).

·         being born in a stable, the worst of conditions (Lk.2:7).

·         being born to poor parents (Lk.2:24).

·         having His life threatened as a baby (Mt.2:13).

·         being the cause of unimaginable sorrow (Mt.2:16).

·         having to be moved and shifted about as a baby (Mt.2:13).

·         being reared in a despicable place, Nazareth, (Lk.2:39).

·         having His father die during His youth (Mt.13:53-58).

·         having to support His mother and brothers and sisters (Mt.13:53-58).

·         having no home, not even a place to lay His head (Mt.8;20;Lk.9:58).

·         being hated and opposed by religionists (Mk.14:1-2).

·         being charged with insanity (Mk.3:21).

·         being charged with demon possession (Mk.3:22).

·         being opposed by His own family (Mk.3:31-32).

·         being rejected, hated, opposed by listeners (Mt.13:53-58;Lk.4:28-29).

·         being betrayed by a close friend (Mk.14:10-11,18).

·         being left alone, and forsaken by all of His friends (Mk.14:50).

·         being tried before the high court of the land on the charge of treason (Jn.18:33).

·         being executed by crucifixion, the worst possible death (Jn.19:16).

And Jesus Christ suffered so much more, but the point to note is this: in each of these experiences His suffering reached the depth of humiliation.  Christ stooped to the lowest experience in every condition in order to become the Perfect Sympathizer (Savior). This is the reason He can now identify with and feel for any person’s circumstances.

 No person ever comes close to the depth of suffering and humiliation He bore. Jesus Christ can succor—help, feel for, care for, and look after—every person no matter their condition, trial, or temptation. Jesus said, “Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God, believe also in Me….I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you” (John 14:1, 18).

Prayer: Oh Jesus, thank You for hearing our heart’s cry … Teach us to believe in Your Words that You will not leave us comfortless and that You will come to us, heal us, deliver us and many more. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen!

Dorothy: What impressed me? This is the most amazing small Card Verse that could turn to almost a Manna to me. I have never seen so much information about what Christ has gone through so much. It made me realize that our sufferings are small compare to what Christ has gone through. It helped me to stay on with His Word of promise that He will not leave us comfortless. He will not leave us without any comforts. He will comfort us.

So let us trust Jesus today, shall we?

C.V. DAILY LOADETH US 1/26

26 Jan. 2016 - Daily Loadeth Us - Card Verse for the Day by Dorothy Callies

Psalm 68:19, KJV "Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation." NLT: Praise the Lord; praise God our savior! For each day He carries us in His arms."

This verse can also be translated, "who daily beareth our burdens."  Psalm 55:22, KJV tells us, "Cast thy burden upon the Lord, and He shall sustain thee: He shall never suffer (allow) the righteous to be moved."  NLT: "Give your burdens to the Lord, and He will take care of you. He will not permit the godly to slip and fall."

When facing trials too great to bear, God invites us to cast our burdens and cares upon Him. He then bears the weight of them with us and support us in every situation.  The Holy Spirit has repeated this invitation throughout the redemption history.  Jesus gave this invitation in Matthew 11:28-30 "Come unto Me."

The apostle Peter stated that believers should humble themselves before God "casting all your care upon Him; for He careth for you" (1 Peter 5:7).  And the apostle Paul exhorted us to bring all our anxieties to God in prayer, promising that the peace of God will guard our hearts and minds (Phil. 4:7).

Blessed be the Lord who gives us good deed. Blessed be the Lord who gives us useful aid or help. Blessed be the Lord who gives us money in time of need. Blessed be the Lord who gives us healing for our bodies. Bless the Lord O my soul, and all that is within me.

Card Verse CONFIDENCE 1/25

25 Jan 2016 - CONFIDENCE – Card Verse for the Day by Dorothy Callies

“Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.” Proverbs 3:25-26, KJV.

I was thinking of what was going on in the East Coast of U.S. since a friend shared the alarming news what people were going through. Snow piled up, electricity went off and more … Some southern part of California have not received any rain since Christmas of 2015. My niece shared her concern so I mentioned that I would pray for rain to come and would share this with friends to join in prayers.

Then I saw this card verse for the day, God spoke to my heart and I used NLT to understand this better. “You need not be afraid of disaster or the destruction that comes upon the wicked, for the LORD is your security. He will keep your foot from being caught in a trap.” Prov. 3:25-26, NLT.

I quoted to myself: For the Lord shall be my confidence … I will put my feeling of trust in the Lord … For the Lord is my security … I will put my mind to rest in Him … I will trust the Lord with all my heart … I remember the chorus that Tony and I often sang, “Cast not away your confidence,” saith the Lord thy God.

Card Verse ASSURANCE 1/24

24 Jan. 2016 - Card Verse for the Day, Assurance by Dorothy Callies

"If God be for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:31, KJV. 

This is an assurance that God has acted for the believer, not against him. This is an assurance of deliverance. This is the greatest truth in all the world. God did not have to act for man, but He did. God loves every man, no matter his condition or sin and shame. Therefore, believers can rest assured that nothing, absolutely nothing, absolutely nothing shall ever separate them from the plan and purpose of God.

God's love is perfect. And God shall have His perfect love expressed by completing His perfect plan and purpose for each life. We, the believer can have perfect assurance that God will work all things out for our good, even things that fail and are painful to the heart.

God shall deliver us, the believer from the struggling and suffering of this world. We, the true believer shall be conformed to the image of Christ and be glorified with Him. The point is this: God Himself is our assurance. God Himself has acted for us; He has done everything necessary and then more: "If God be for us, who can be against us?" Let's sing.

Card Verse BUT NOW 1/23

23 Jan 2016 - Verse for the Day - BUT NOW – by Dorothy Callies

Ephesians 2:13, KJV: “But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off made nigh by the blood of Christ.” NLT: Though you once were far away from God, now you have been brought near to Him because of the blood of Christ.”

In the past, we were “without Christ.” This means that we as Gentiles did not know about salvation. We did not have Jesus Christ. We had no hope. We were without God in the world. We had nothing to look beyond ourselves.

Paul said, “BUT NOW” you have been brought near to God because of Jesus’ blood.” Once you were far away from God, BUT NOW you are close to Him because of the blood of Christ. Once you was a sinner, BUT NOW you are forgiven through Christ who died on the cross for you. NOW, you are a God’s child. You can come close to Him. There’s a new name written down in heaven.

Card Verse TESTIMONY 1/22

Blessed are they that keep His testimonies, and that seek Him with the whole heart. Psalm 119:2

What is testimony? 1: firsthand evidence (according to the testimony of eyewitnesses) 2: a statement made by a witness under oath especially in a court. 3: a public declaration of religious experience. [Franklin's tech: Merriam-Webster Dictionary]

Research on Exodus 16:34 with KJV and NLT:
KJV: "As the Lord commanded Moses, Aaron put the manna in front of the Testimony, that it might be kept." NLT: "Aaron did this, just as the Lord had commanded Moses. He eventually placed it (manna) for safekeeping in the Ark of the Covenant.

In front of the Testimony in KJV actually interpret "safekeeping in the Ark." Why? Let's read Exodus 16:31-33, 35-36 from NLT: "In time, the food became known as manna. It was white like coriander seed, and it tasted like honey cakes. 32) Then Moses gave them this command from the Lord: "Take two quarts of manna and keep it forever as a treasured memorial of the LORD'S provision. By doing this, later generations will be able to see the bread that the Lord provided in the wilderness when He brought you out of Egypt." 33) Moses said to Aaron, "Get a container and put two quarts of manna into it. Then store it in a sacred place* (Hebrew before the Lord) as a reminder for all future generations. 34) See above verse. 35) So the people of Israel ate manna for forty years until they arrived in the land of Canaan, where there were crops to eat. 36) (The container used to measure the manna was an omer, which held about two quarts.)* (Hebrew An omer is one tenth of an ephah.)

There are many testimonies and God wants us to keep them as a reminder how great is our God. This devotion is just one of the testimonies: MANNA. Blessed are they that keep ... what's keep? Keep means to be faithful to. So in another words, blessed are they that are faithful to remember what God has done. We seek His word with our whole heart. We study His Word. We love His Word. We love His Manna. Because Exodus 16:4 God said, "I will rain bread (Manna) from heaven for you ... every day ..."

Dear Lord, thank You for this verse that reminds us that we are blessed when we keep your testimonies, the wonderful work of Yours. Thank You for this precious Manna today that feed our souls. Thank You for Your loving-kindness today. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen!

News of Tony Callies (1/8/16)

Tony's brother, Michael Callies of Berthoud, Colorado died January 2, 2016 at Longmont United hospital. He was 71. Preceding him in death are his parents, his brother Jack Callies and former wife Roberta. Surviving are his wife Ann of Berthoud; children Michael (Ann) Callies, Jr. of Shakopee, Minnesota; Heidi (Matthew) West of Estes Park, Colorado; and brothers Tony (Dorothy) Callies of Bloomington, Illinois; and Randy (Marti) Callies of St. John, Virgin Islands.

Let’s join Shelly Guinn’s Praying for Monika and Jeanne,

Father, thank You for Your ongoing presence in our lives through Your word and Holy Spirit. We trust You and exalt You on high. We are to come to You boldly and with confidence in our time of need. As we ask according to Your will which shows that You want all of Your children healthy, strong and well. I pray for Your healing touch to Monika and Jeanne right now. Let Your word come and heal their bones completely. Give full mobility to both sisters. Thank You Jesus. In Your mighty name, Jesus, dissolve the blood clot in Monika's body and that she is free of it. I ask You to fill Jeanne with Your Spirit and show her how to keep Your peace and joy in the midst of recovery. Thank You Jesus. Thank You Jesus.

Barb Lloyd is still in need of prayer, but she is better than before. Thank you all for praying! I talked to her yesterday and she said "please" ask the prayer warriors to keep praying she may need another back surgery, and she needs to be healed by Jesus, In connection; Barb's son Wayne needed his hand amputated, but when they did more tests, a try of new medicine caused the blood flowing started working and now PRAISE GOD he will not need HIS HAND TO BE CUT OFF. Prayer Request for Dallas Bennewitz of Rockford, IL:

Dallas is 82 years old and he has pinch nerves in his right neck and arthritis and is very painful. The doctor gave him generic pain pill because the insurance refused to pay for brand pain pill that would have really help. Dallas was offer neck surgery, but he heard there’s a risk. His wife checked with friends and learn that doctor don’t tell you everything. One friend had neck surgery for pinch nerve and was not able to turn her head. She was mad that doctor did not tell her that. Learning about this, they need wisdom and checking with second opinion from another doctor. Prayer Request for Tony Callies and Dorothy, too!

Tony Callies has problem with memory because of taking the Pravastatin medicine when I asked his heart doctor about this. Took off that medicine for a week and it helps some, but had to go back to this medicine to prevent any serious problem. So Tony takes Mind Works Shaklee supplement with a hope that it will keep from losing too much memory. Otherwise, he is fine in doing everything himself. He even drive the car just fine. The family doctor said if he can do everything, then it is not to worry about. Just need help with remembering with appointments or plan to do. As for me, Dorothy, I will have surgery in March for fistula anus. Doctor said it is only 60 percent chance of healing or being fixed. It means that 60% of people were successful while 40% were not. Ohhh, I told him then I would turn to prayer. Doctor agreed that it would be helpful. This is embarrassing, but to understand what I have been going through, I have to use gauze and cloth tape for tiny hole to absorb the pus and blood and change it every two to four hours. It is next to anus so bowels are fine and normal. It is not painful. I just sit comfortably with gauze and tape. But I have to make sure, it is changed often. The doctor checked and said it looks good. Sigh!!!! I really need healing because it has been going on a long time.
