His Special Favor 7/19/19

July 19 2019 His Special Favor – Manna by Dorothy & Tony Callies

“God saved you by His special favor when you believed.” Ephesians 2:8, NLT.
[Picked verse for the day from the jar].

Part of the writing is summary from the Daily Bread devotion:
We are encouraged to pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away. (Hebrews 2:1)

We have a good reason to stay close.  The author of Hebrews says that while the Mosaic (Moses’) law was reliable and needed to be obeyed, the message of the Son of God is far superior.  Which means that Jesus came and satisfied the demands of the law, so now our Salvation is “so great” in Jesus that He should not be ignored. (Heb. 2:3).

Question: What will help us stay anchored in Jesus?
Answer:  Spending time talking with Him in prayer and reading His Word, confessing our wrongs to Him, and interacting with other followers of Jesus can help us stay anchored in Him—He will be faithful to support us.

The story of devotion was about a family who was at the beach resort for snacks, watching the boats at the seashore, were anchored to prevent them from drifting away, they noticed one boat drifting away.  No one pay attention to it and slowly making its way out to sea.  So Hebrews 2:1 was given to believers, “We must pay the most careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard so that we do not drift away.”

May the Lord bless you today!

Words Carry Power PM 7/11/19

For Prayer Meeting

Theme: YOUR WORDS CARRY POWER!

Where the word of a king is, there is power … Ecclesiastes 8:4

In Bible times, a king’s word carried tremendous power.

Do you know that we are kings? The Bible tells us that Jesus has washed us from our sins with His blood and made us kings (see Revelation 1:5–6). And as kings in Christ, our words carry power too.

When we place our hands on a sick person and say, “Be healed,” the person is healed. When we lay hands on our children and say, “Be blessed,” our children are blessed. There is power in our words because they are the words of kings!

Start saying, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13).

Beloved, remember that as a king, what you say will come to pass because where the word of a king is, there is power. So learn to say what God says about you in His Word and see His promises come to pass in your life!

Short Notes for 7/6/2019

July 6, 2019 – Short Written Notes from Journal by Dorothy Callies

Which Way? Short notes from Our Daily Bread
Hosea 14:9 “The ways of the Lord are right; the righteous walk in them.”

Asking God for directions is important. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart . . . and He shall direct your paths.” Proverbs 3:5-9

Warning Scripture tells us, “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” Proverbs 16:25

Short notes from Character Devotion: Walk with Your Creator!
Integrity means total honesty and sincerity.
Integrity is built slowly over a lifetime.  Live each day with discipline, honesty and faith.  When we obey Him, blessings flows . . .

Character is what we are when nobody is watching.  Walk with your Creator, your character will take care of itself.  Greatest possession is being honest.  Its result of self-discipline and inner trust in God.

Prayer: Thank you, Lord for speaking to me this morning. Calvary—healing flows –I claimed it in Jesus’ name. Amen!
