#19 Nov 2 Prayer Request and Praise Report

#19 Nov 2, 2015 - Prayer Request and Praise Report by Dorothy Callies

Deuteronomy 33:3, 27 NCV, “The Lord surely loves His people and takes care of all those who belong to Him. They bow down at His feet, and they are taught by Him. The everlasting God is your place of safety, and His arms will hold you up forever. He will force your enemy out ahead of you, saying, “Destroy the enemy!”

11/1/15 Jeanne Reis of Oregon requests prayer: My husband, Steve decided to take off dialysis since he had been on it for six years. He is dying and soon will be going home to heaven. He will be at Hospice. Please pray for the comforts and peace that Steve needs. Pray for God’s presence to be real to Steve and prepare Him home to heaven. Also I have had finger trigger surgery on my left hand and asked for speedy recovering. The next surgery for my right hand finger trigger and please pray for the guidance of Surgeon. I really appreciate your prayers. Jeanne [Note: Steve passed away on Thursday afternoon, Nov. 5th. Pray for family's comfort and prayer support.]

Praise Report from this date of April 29th.
April 29, 2015: Dorothy Callies of Illinois: I know you have been praying for me since March 11 when my healthcare Insurance denied the coverage for fistula surgery. There were several phone calls between my doctor and the insurance and me. My appeals went through and a week later until April 24, the Insurance called to say that they accept the coverage and to go ahead with the surgery. So I met the Doctor today and he explained the procedure of “plug” and it should be helpful so I am scheduled for surgery on Tuesday morning on May 12th. So my prayer is believing for a miracle that everything would be resolved so thank you for praying for me that the health insurance would be approved.

11/1/15 Praise Report from Dorothy Callies: I just forgot to mention that the surgery done at Surgery Center for fistula was all paid for 100% by Healthcare Insurance. After surgery of May 12th, it took three months for it to heal itself and finally the bleeding stopped. Then came the Doctor’s personal bill almost $2,000 and I called the Insurance and eventually they covered most of it until the balance of $192.00. I was waiting for that bill so I called. Surprisely, the Insurance said that they haven’t send it. The computer shows that it was still pending and possible that other source of Insurance might pay some of it or whatever. I really called that a miracle. Truly, God was at work although it took some times doing it. I give God the praise for hearing our prayers. I praise Him!

11/2/15 Betty Jo and Dallas Bennewitz of Rockford, Illinois request prayer for their safe trip with moving Truck and a hitched car while Dallas’ son, Brad is driving to Fort Myers, Florida. They will stop by Bloomington, Illinois for the night and I will certainly miss them. The story about Betty Jo and Dallas had left Florida 17 years ago in search of their deep spiritual hunger for God. Eventually, they found us and held on to us for spiritual training, guidance and growth. Now they are returning to be reunited with their families. Their testimony was that they had learned so much during that time. They are ready to share how great God was to them with their friends and families. Seventeen years ago, they left Florida hungry for God and now they are returning to Florida full of God’s lives in them. Amazing grace! How sweet God is toward them!

11/1/15 News: The Deaf Church of B/N just celebrated Ruth Eckstein's birthday who became 80 years old. She moved to Urbana, Illinois to live with her daughter, Kay and her husband, Jack.

#18 Oct 26, 2015 Prayers Need

#18 Oct. 26, 2015 Urgent Prayer Requests & Praise Report – Submitted by Dorothy

Ephesians 3:16 “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (NKJV).

10/25/15 Dolores Post of Calif: Urgent Prayer need for her legs and feet swell up very large with raw skin as her legs so filled with water that it broke skin open very badly; went on for two months; ER 3 times; saw Dr. 2 times a week until finally Dolores is in a Nursing Care & Rehab Center. Please pray for her legs to be strengthened and water retention problems to be solved. Report by Susanne

10/25/15 Susanne’s Urgent Prayer Need: My foot has not healed from its break since last March 21st… now waiting to start new health insurance. Please pray that the DR will help me heal it so I can get back on my feet. I came down with bad cold & bronchitis so I wasn’t able to help my mom. 10/25/15 Prayer Answered that Kent/Teri-Lyn Calhoun’s house has been sold.
09/22/15 Remember this? Kent/Teri-Lyn Calhoun are requesting for prayer as they had put their house on the market.

Yes, Dorothy - God has been SO good while trying to sell the house as well as to buy a house.  While yes it is going to cost us some money to bring this house to code (the contractor had cut too many corners)--- the buyers were NOT asking us to pay to replace the roof shingles. Why are we taking this as a positive?

1.  The replacement of the shingles would be very expensive (to cover the whole house)
2.  OH WOW -- The Radon test on this house showed the house was holding at the gas level of 110 instead of the "acceptable" number of 4.  WOW.
3.  We have several support poles in the basement that were NOT bolted to the floor nor to the ceiling!  Praise God that we haven't experienced any tremors of any kind.  The only "tremors" we have had were from the train just across the street from us - several times a day.  God allowed the house to stay firm - HIS FOUNDATION is always firm!!! Praise God for that.

We flew out to Arizona recently. We did have every intention of looking for a trailer that is in the same community as Kent's mother. But God sent a message loud and clear via a precious friend of mine -- we are NOT to look for any "home" WITH STEPS.  I would constantly be suffering from pinched nerve and not be healed. So we found a house that DOES NOT have any steps - in a different community that is only a few minutes away.  We will be closing on November 13th, 2015 on the old house AS WELL as the new house. The new chapter of our lives starts that day.

And by the way - THANK YOU for posting the prayer request for Kent and I --- the prayers have been answered. Teri-Lyn and Kent

10/26/15 Dorothy Callies Special Prayer RequestLast Oct. 5th, I took the Lifeline Screening tests and I haven’t heard the result yet. New problem came up. Since they sonogram on both side of my neck for Artery tests, I seem to have a terrible side effect of “screaming” tinnitus. In the past the tinnitus has been “low humming.” The only time, it would be a “low humming” is for me to be very still and quiet. Whenever I changed my position, the tinnitus noise would be “very loud” on either side of my ears. I’m taking my communion often, continue to release my faith and commands the “screaming” spirits to leave me. It seems to help at times, but I would appreciate your prayers as prayer warriors. Thank you so much! Dorothy

Evangelism News of Callies 9/22

Sept. 22 News of Callies:

On Sunday morning early on Sept 20th, it was a beautiful day to drive up North for Evangelism ministry at two different places who do not have deaf church. We ministered to one friend and have a private 'little church' and it was such a blessing. And at different place, two friends who do not have a deaf church, we had communion with them and it was such a blessing to them for us to serve them.

God had truly blessed us and we felt the joy of the Lord in our spirits and we were able to pray and sing freely along the highway. It was amazing grace of the Lord! Thank you for your prayers that we sense a beautiful freedom in our spirits.

Dorothy

Inspiration Song:

#17 Sept 22 Urgent Prayer Requests

22 Sept 2015 - Urgent Prayer Requests – Submit by Dorothy

From Karen Batts Friend of the Calhoun in Peoria/Mossville, Illinois:
Our Deaf Brother and Sister in the Lord, Kent/Teri-Lyn Calhoun are requesting for prayer as they had put their house on the market. Even before it was agree and signed to sell their home...the realtor who is a hearing Christian brother, found a buyer and that buyer did offer CASH for it....as quick as it was offer, then at the last min....that buyer had pulled out and changed his mind. Real business, now it is on the market, a special family had fell in LOVE with their home and knowing they could not afford it, they tried to get a higher loan and the bank did not agree with them. This was heartbroken news as the Calhoun knew this family should have gotten their home.

The Calhoun wants God's glory in the sold of their home.  All in God's hand. They trust in God alone to do this "appoint a family" to live in this home.  Now the selling has cooled off but still on the market, the spiritual war has started...it been felt by the brothers/sisters around...satan does not want this home sold. The Calhoun has proven to sell of this home has they have already down size in huge measure! Where are they going to live??? It was felt AZ should be the place...again... All the Calhoun wants is God approval and Glory. They do not want to be one step away from His Glory. It will take a special person to buy this home.

Please join with us in prayer that this war will be won to the Glory of God.  That is all the Calhoun ever wanted. Thank you for posting this prayer request. [You’re welcome, Dot]

Melinda Gerstein of Chicago:
The owner of the company was impressed by my book. He need about $900.00 for start my book with. He agrees to let me pay $ 100.00 a month. Please pray for my finance.

#15 July 25, 2015 Prayer Request & News!

Ephesians 3:16 “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (NKJV).

7/25/15 Rev. Hedy Miller, US Missionary - passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015 at 9:42 pm. The Memorial Service for Hedy Miller will be held on Saturday, August 1st at First Assembly of God, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 1:30 pm. Pray for the comfort of love ones and many friends who knew her.

7/25/15 Tony Callies is having trouble with his old knee injury and is asking for prayer. He will see his Doctor for routine check. Dorothy: I have eyes glaucoma and I am having trouble with the brightness that often I have to cover my eyes more than usual. Some Deaf thinks I look “cranky” when actually my “frown” eye brows covers my eyes more. My “frown” doesn’t really help much so a friend made several fitted eye glasses covers, and it became a blessing. I have colors to choose from. God blessed her. I want to believe in healing for my eyes. Thank you.

7/4/15 Shirley Yellin from East – Celeste Herse request prayer for her:
Hi Dorothy, I would like you to add Shirley Yellin on your prayer list. She is in a nursing home, and has become blind. None of her family will visit or care for her, the state is handling her affairs.  I do believe she needs our prayers and Gods' will.  Thanks

Tony and Dorothy: We have known Shirley Yellin from Central Bible College in Springfield, Missouri from 1963’s and 1965’s. We pray that God will anointed her eyes and be healed in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. We pray that all things will be done well for Shirley that she would be well taken care of. We pray that God will lift her soul unto the Lord God and have intimate fellowship with God, Himself. And the allow His Presence to fill her heart with peace and joy of knowing that God is with Shirley Yellin in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

#14 June 6, 2015 Prayer Request & News

#14 June 6, 2015 - Prayer Requests & News by Dorothy Callies
Ephesians 3:16 “That He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man” (NKJV).

News: Please pray for Ruth Eckstein's husband, Bill who was in the hospital for ten days and the doctor said that he could be gone anytime. Bill is 80 years old and he has many health issues. Please pray for family's strength.

On Friday morning, June 5th, Tony, Albert, Bob and I went to visit Bill at the hospital after we met for Bible Study. Ruth and Bill was happy to see us group visiting him. Kay, their daughter was also there. Kay looked so tired so please pray for her strength. Kay drove one hour from Urbana, Illinois to Bloomington, IL to be with her parent. Jack, her husband provided transportation for Ruth since he got lay off from work. Ruth and Kay shared that they are planning on hospice at home since Bill wants to be home and Ruth could be close to him.

Little history about Ruth and Bill. They go way back to Rev. Couch's time when Lloyd was traveling on Sunday afternoon to minister at Peoria Outstation in 1968. The group that came together were Ecksteins and two daughters, Braddys and two daughters in one van, traveling from Normal to Peoria which was an hour drive. Ruth and Bill accepted Christ. The group requested Rev. Couch to find a pastor to Normal Assembly of God at Franklin Ave.

That was where Rev. Couch asked Rev. Tony Callies if he could do the outstation ministry from Rockford to Normal two times a month in 1969. It was two hours drive each way. Until May 1969, we became pastor to the Deaf church then, but we had Super-8 movies to finish up the Rapture, the Tribulation Saints, and the Rich Man. So we continued traveling two times a month until we moved Dec. 1969 to Normal.

We were living in Rockford, Illinois for one year and Tony worked as a night janitor at Listerine Company for six days a week. I asked him if he would look for job first in Normal/Bloomington, IL before we move. He said, "No, we are going to move anyway, and by faith I would already have found a job." Well, we moved and he looked at the newspaper and saw the job ad, "Linotype Operator Needed" so he applied and got the job. Wow! God prepared the way!

So we had a group that involves Bill and Ruth Eckstein and Pauline and John Braddy since 1969. God really blessed the ministry until we had a growing group to average 15-20. They were also involved in being actors for the Super-8 movies, "Overconfidence, Power of Faith, This is Your Life, and Parable of Sower" (Now in DVDs). We were at Normal, Illinois for three years and God called us to minister to Peoria for another three years. We realized that along with Rev. Couch, we were "Church Planters" and others took over. The secret to this was "many hours of prayers" to get the new ministry growing.

Today, we have Albert Jones, as lay leader and Pastor Terry Newman who were former residents of Peoria, now lives in Bloomington, Illinois and participate with the Deaf Ministry at Assembly of God on Vernon Ave, Normal, IL to carry on the Deaf Ministry.

So Bill Eckstein has been with the Normal Deaf Church since 47 years. So please pray for God to bless him and his family be comforted with strength to endure all things in Jesus' name.

#13 Shelley's Prayers 5/9/15

#13 Shelley Guinn Anointed Prayers, May 9, 2015 - Callies

Deuteronomy 33:3, 27 NCV, “The Lord surely loves His people and takes care of all those who belong to Him. They bow down at His feet, and they are taught by Him. The everlasting God is your place of safety, and His arms will hold you up forever. He will force your enemy out ahead of you, saying, “Destroy the enemy!”  [Dot: Wow! I love this! PTL! The Hardyzoo surely need your prayer. Dean has been doing lots of driving around for his kids included Karen and me. Today he took Nathan to Ottawa for literacy program. While he is waiting for Nate, he had a meeting with Trustees as well as doing some computer work in either Starbucks or in Library. Poor guy, he is always on go-go. Next Sunday on 17th he will be preaching in Belleville (2 hours away). Then in May 20 to 25th he will fly to Vancouver, B.C. to preach at retreat. He surely will need your prayer. Smile!

Father,
Let us all come boldly to Your throne and receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need. We are lifting Dean to You for Your strength and wisdom when he drives, prepares sermons, ministers and helps his family and others. Show him how to rest in You without getting tired or weary in doing good. Give Dean Your Word that he can be quickened with life, vitality and strength. Anoint him with power to carry Your work at the retreat, bringing a heart change and a revival. In Jesus' glorious Name that is loved, amen and amen.

Dorothy Callies May 8, 2015
On Tuesday early morning of May 12th will be my surgery of fistula plug. I was told by Doctor that it would be painful after surgery. Reading Shelley Guinn’s testimony about having no pain throughout the recovery process, could you please pray for me as well that I would be comfortable after surgery? I will be outpatient and be home for the day. It may be the reason I wrote devotion ahead of time for May 10-12 Does Jesus Care? Thank you so much for your prayers. You are a blessing!!!

Father,
Thank You for loving Dorothy deeply, widely and powerfully. Let her receive Your love completely to remove fear from her. There is no fear in love but perfect love casts out fear. She is free from fear and made perfect in love. Father, You give her not the spirit of fear but of power, love and a sound mind. I pray that she keeps her mind on You Jesus as her Prince of Peace which crushes the enemy of lies and fear beneath her feet and keeps her wholly sanctified, spirit, soul and body. When the day of surgery comes, let her heart be at great peace and trust You. Guide the doctor to perform the surgery well. Pain, I forbid you to be with Dorothy, demand you to go to dry place and never to come back in Jesus' mighty Name.  She takes God's Word as cure to her recovery. Thank You Father for hearing this prayer today. Amen and amen.

Shelley Guinn's Good News!

Thank you Dorothy and team for praying. Give God the glory!

Praise God! I came home the day after surgery. It was a two hour surgery and it went well. My mother in law came and waited all day for me. She told me later that there was fire of some sorts in the surgery room where I was being operated on. The hospital had alarm going on and doors were locked temporarily. I don't know the full details but God was with me. My mother in law was overly worried. Then all went okay afterwards.

I was told by my doctor the next day that she found my uterus with fibroids larger than the results have had shown and removed it through vagina instead of belly button as planned. She ripped my vagina a bit in the process. I woke up to full of air in the belly area and was finding hard to breathe comfortably and now the air is nearly gone and my belly is nearly to its normal size. I'm thankful to be able to breathe better. I look forward to full recovery where I am breathing regularly and normally. God is good and faithful.

I thank God that I have no pain in the womb area throughout the recovery process. I took no pain meds. I am also thankful to Him that I am sleeping better at nights now. I am walking better and gaining strength as well.

I am looking at the digestive system and am seeking God for His direction and healing. I am off work for 6 weeks.

Blessings

#12 April 29, 2015 Dot's Testimony & Prayers

#12 April 29, 2015 - Prayer Requests & Testimony – by Dorothy Callies

April 2015: Beatrice Fitzpatrick of Indiana Pray for Ronald, my brother, who attend to dialysis three times a week every 4 hours, suffer with cramps with calves and arms fingers after dialysis. Pray for Ronald since he has so many needs. I prayed for him to know Jesus as his personal friend and Savior.

So my prayer is believing for a miracle that everything would be resolved so thank you for praying for me that the health insurance would approved.

Dorothy's Devotion:
You know what was interesting? The whole month’s theme was about “Nothing!” Manna after manna I saw God’s Word with varies theme on “nothing” and one of them was “nothing was impossible with God.” So I kept believing for a miracle and it came even when it took longer than normal. The doctor said that perhaps my insurance thought I might give up, but I kept calling them time after time. Until I asked them if they had the right phone number of my doctor and mine. That was when it came the breakthrough of contacts. A week later, the insurance approved!
So now I am praying the blood of Jesus over everything to make sure Satan has no room for interference.

Shelley Guinn of Canada: Don’t forget to pray for her since her surgery is scheduled on Friday, May 1st. We are believing a miracle of healing for her as well. For details look up the network on: http://deafprayerpartners.blogspot.com/

God really bless you today!
The Lord is greatly to be praised. We thank You Father in heaven for everything You have done for us. We praise You. We thank You. We love You. We worship You. You are awesome! Amen!

#11 Special Prayer for Shelley (4/22-24)

22-24 April 2015 Special Prayer Days – By Dorothy Callies

Song: Hear Our Prayers
Hear our prayers, O Lord … Hear our prayers, O Lord …
Incline thy ears unto us … And grant us Thy peace …
Hear our prayers, O Lord … Hear our prayers O Lord …
Incline thy ears unto us … and grant us Thy peace …
(Author, Unknown) (Incline=bow down and listen)

Psalm 102:2 “Hide not Thy face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline Thine ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.” Psalm 30:2 “O Lord my God, I cried unto Thee and Thou hast healed me.” Isaiah 53:5 “By His stripes we are healed.”

Thank you Dorothy for today's manna - Nothing is impossible for our God!
I am asking for you and your prayer group to pray for me. I am experiencing Silent Reflux - LPR and want to get the pepsin (digestive enzyme) to let go and dissolve in my throat area, removing the feeling of lump in the throat and to swallow normally with food and drink. And to eat anything with no restrictions. Also, I have a surgery scheduled May 1st for a laparoscopic hysterectomy. I want God's highest will to take place on that day, making it all about Him. I want full recovery after a clean and quick surgery as a testimony of God's powerful work in my life. Your prayers and support are appreciated!
PS. Need to add a bit more with the LPR... I want the pepsin to stay in the stomach with the acid where it should be and the LES (lower esophageal sphincter) to work perfectly. It closes when food is in the stomach with acid and pepsin. I have been told in the past that my LES was weak. I am believing for a healing miracle. Thank you again. Blessings.
Shelley Guinn often prayed anointing prayers for those who request prayers. Now she is asking us to pray for her so here’s anointing prayers for her.

Oh, Dear heavenly Father, we turned to you and asking you for wisdom of prayer for Shelley Guinn’s special need right now. We present Shelley before you at the very throne of God because Hebrews 4:16 encourage us to “come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.”

We claimed the healing that flows from the stripes that Jesus’ blood was shed that day 2,000 years ago! Together we believed and we received the anointing oil of Holy Spirit shed upon Shelley’s body and she received healing. We ask for your presence upon the surgeon’s hand that he may be guided by Your hand, O Lord of hosts. We believe that nothing is impossible with You, Lord.

We trust You, Lord because You really cares and because You really loves Shelley very much. O Lord, hear our prayers and incline thy ear unto us and grant Shelley the peace that she sorely needs from You. We want to thank You and praise You for the marvelous work You have done. You are very great! We love You and We worship You because we know and have confidence that You hear us in Jesus’ name we pray. Amen and Amen!

#10 Mar. 24, 2015 Prayer Requests & News!

#10 Prayer Requests & News! March 24, 2015 provided by Dorothy

Many of you send greetings of happy birthday to Tony. I showed him my laptop to his chair and he was really impressed!! Tony appreciate hearing that from you. There were 32 or more. (I am sure more is coming during the week.) Awesome!

Our trip to Carol Stream to Red Apple Restaurant, Tony really enjoyed his birthday breakfast. If I order 2 eggs, it always comes with four “small” eggs, huge hash potatoes, and etc. I shared it with Tony while he waits for 30 minutes baked apple pancake “pie”. Then we shared but it was too much and we brought it home to finish it. Then we get to meet David Stecca and Allen.

It was a beautiful day after we left 12:30 pm to avoid any rush hour which falls at 3 pm. (We had lived at DVC for four years and Red Apple Restaurant had been our favorite morning breakfast of many kinds of choice even to oatmeal, or simple things. It was our morning time together to chat, to do business, or ideas or anything.) We now go to Dunkin Donut for coffee since we moved here 2007. Thank you for prayers. We got home safety. Whew!!!
